Brilliant Bianchi – a bike brand for the ages

There’s just something about a Bianchi, isn’t there? The bikes look amazing, especially when the frame is painted in their signature celeste colour, and their reputation for quality precedes them. If you ride a Bianchi, you’re telling the world (or at least the part of it that knows about Italian bikes) that you value quality and tradition over all else.

By pulling on a piece of Bianchi branded kit, you’re joining a roster of heroes, none more famous than the legendary Fausto Coppi. His imperious performances in blue helped propel Bianchi to global prominence, but the company has been associated with cycling for 130 years – long before the epoch of the campionissimos.

As a stockist of Bianchi bikes and gear, we thought we’d run through some of our favourites from their range – so you too can be a part of the legend.

Bianchi Infinito Disc Mix 2016

Follow in the pedal-strokes of Classics riders like Sep Vanmarcke with Bianchi’s top-level racing frame the Infinito. This model combines Bianchi’s pioneering countervail technology and disc brakes to provide the ultimate endurance bike. With a slightly higher front end, longer wheelbase and long chain stays, the Infinito was designed to be at home on cobbles, minimising road vibrations and reducing fatigue. The Infinito is the perfect bike for riders looking for a balance between speed and comfort, without sacrificing on looks.

Bianchi Intenso 105 11sp Compact 2016

If you are looking for your first carbon frame or a winter bike (and are confident in your bike-washing abilities), then look no further than the Intenso. Its incomparable good looks and surprising stiffness make it a brilliant entry-level carbon machine. Decked out in Shimano 105 and with a geometry fit for both endurance and racing, the Intenso has something for everyone.

Bianchi Via Nirone 7 Xenon 2016

There are very few brands which would offer a beginner cyclist such an enticing package in an entry-level bike. The Via Nirone features an alloy frame with carbon fork and a Campagnolo Xenon groupset – another truly great Italian brand – all brought together by the iconic celeste paint job. Although the Via Nirone’s specification sits at the lower end, it comes with a frame that promises to stand the test of time and draw any first-timer into the sport for good.

Bianchi Reparto Corse Short Sleeve Jersey

Bianchi owners like to stand out more than any other, and what better way than with Bianchi’s very own apparel. The Reparto Corse label and flashes of celeste on this jersey ooze heritage and are guaranteed to make you faster*.

Bianchi Elite Bottle Cage

Once you have you first item of Bianchi paraphernalia, the floodgates open and any hint of celeste (or Cambridge blue) will scream to be added to the collection. The perfect accessories to any Bianchi bike are the custom bottle cages available in a number of permutations – offering varying ratios of celeste to black or white.

*This is not backed up by science, but ask anyone with a bicycle and smart kit and they will tell you whole-heartedly that feeling pro will do your speed (and quality of life) a world of good.
