The Powerfly+ FS 4 Equipped is a full-power full suspension electric mountain bike for taking on alpine adventures. Its Alpha Platinum Aluminium frame pairs with a RockShox Deluxe suspension package (120 mm rear, 130 mm front) to smooth out rough trails, while a 10-speed Shimano CUES drivetrain provides simple, low maintenance shifting. Tektro Gemini SL 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes give you stopping power at a great value. Plus, it comes equipped for adventure with lights, mudguards, a MIK-compatible rack and a kickstand.
A Bosch Performance Line CX motor assisting up to 25 km/h with a 600 Wh Bosch PowerTube battery that slides out of the frame, run from a Bosch Purion 200 controller on the bar.
The CX is Bosch's full-power trail motor, so steep, loose climbs become something to ride rather than push. With 600 Wh and a battery that lifts out for charging indoors, long loops and weekends away are easy to plan.

It's both, and that's the appeal. Under the commuting kit sits a full-suspension trail bike that soaks up roots and rocks while wide 2.40 in tyres find grip on loose ground. When the trail tips downhill, a lever drops the saddle out of your way and strong four-piston brakes keep a heavy e-bike in check, so one bike handles Monday's commute and Saturday's singletrack.
If your week includes the commute or the school run, the Equipped is the one to pick. It's the same trail bike as the standard Powerfly+ FS 4 in every part you ride, then adds lights and mudguards for dark, wet mornings, plus a kickstand and a MIK-compatible rack that bags and baskets clip onto. That kit takes it to 26.50 kg in size M, against 25.28 kg.
Climbing is where a full-power e-bike earns its keep. The motor senses how hard you press on the pedals and adds its own push to match, so the harder you work, the more it gives back. You pick how much help you want from the controller on the bars, and the low bottom gear keeps your legs spinning comfortably on the steepest, loosest pitches.
That depends on how you ride it. The assistance level you choose, how hilly and muddy your routes are, your weight plus whatever's on the rack, tyre pressures and cold weather all change how far the 600 Wh battery takes you. Saving the strongest setting for climbs stretches it furthest, and the battery comes out of the frame so you can charge it indoors.
On the flat you'll pedal home without much fuss, but on climbs you'll feel every bit of its 26.50 kg (size M) with the commuting kit fitted. The low bottom gear makes steep hills manageable at a slow spin. If your rides push the battery to its limit, drop to a lower assistance level early so you always have help left for the last hill home.
You get the motor's help up to 15.5 mph, the UK e-bike limit, and from age 14 you can ride it on the road like any bike. Above that, you're on pedal power alone. Derestricting it or fitting a speed box breaks the law: it is then classed as a moped or motorcycle, which must be registered and taxed and needs a driving licence and a crash helmet.
For mixed commuting and trail riding, the FS 4 Equipped already does both jobs. If you love this setup but want longer days, the Powerfly+ FS 4 Equipped 800 carries an 800 Wh battery. If trails come first, the FS 5 is lighter with a bigger battery and a wider spread of gears, and the FS 6 moves up to Fox suspension.
Go by your height: S suits 155 to 165 cm (5 ft 1 in to 5 ft 5 in), M 165 to 177 cm (5 ft 5 in to 5 ft 10 in), L 177 to 188 cm (5 ft 10 in to 6 ft 2 in) and XL 188 to 195 cm (6 ft 2 in to 6 ft 5 in). The S rolls on 27.5 in wheels.
Bring it back for our free first check at your nearest Bicycle Chain store within 6 weeks, sooner if you commute on it daily (around 3 weeks) and straight away if anything feels wrong before then. After that, we recommend a service every 6 months if you ride regularly, or every 12 months for occasional use, to keep it smooth, reliable and worth more when you upgrade.

Parts from other makers, including the Bosch motor and battery, are covered by their own makers' warranties. Claims go through an authorised retailer with your proof of purchase, and wear and tear, crash damage, misuse and modifications aren't covered.
