We created the endurance road category two decades ago proving that high ergonomics means high performance. Today, the new Roubaix SL8 with Future Shock 3.0 is lighter, faster, and smoother than any road bike ever made, unleashing unmatched confidence. The road may be hell below, but on Roubaix, it’s always heaven above. Now; the Roubaix SL8 comes with SRAM’s new Rival AXS group for lighter weight, effortless braking, and faster, more precise shifting.
A FACT 10r carbon frame with FreeFoil aero tube shapes and a FACT carbon fork, with the complete bike weighing 8.82 kg.
The endurance geometry puts you in a more relaxed position for long rides, yet the bike stays stable at speed and descends with confidence. A stiff bottom bracket and aero tube shapes reward you when you push on the flats.
Future Shock 3.2 suspension gives 20 mm of travel between the stem and head tube, protected by a Smooth Boot.
Potholes, chip seal and broken lanes are smothered before they reach your hands, yet it still feels like a road bike under power. If long rides leave your hands numb or your neck sore, you'll feel the difference.
SRAM Rival AXS electronic 2x12 gearing with 46/33T chainrings and a 10-36T cassette.
The 33x36 bottom gear keeps you spinning up steep climbs deep into a long ride, and every shift is a light press of a button. Once you've ridden electronic gears, you won't want to go back.
SRAM Rival E1 hydraulic disc brakes front and rear.
You get strong, predictable stopping with a light pull of the lever, wet or dry, so you can enjoy the Roubaix's stability on long descents without tired hands at the bottom.
DT Swiss G500 tubeless-ready wheels with 24 mm internal rims, fitted with 32 mm Mondo Endurance tyres in GRIPTON T5 compound.
Wide rims give the tyres a supportive shape for grip and comfort, and tubeless lets you run lower pressures with fewer punctures. The tough 24-spoke build isn't the lightest, so wheels are the natural first upgrade for livelier climbing.
Clearance for tyres up to 40 mm, plus mudguard mounts, three bottle mounts and top-tube mounts.
Fit mudguards for wet winter miles, or run wider tyres and explore light gravel tracks, so one bike does it all. Room for extra bottles and a top-tube bag keeps you going on long days between café stops.
An S-Works Pavé seatpost with a hidden dropped clamp, a Body Geometry Power Comp saddle and an alloy Specialized Hover Comp bar with Supacaz Super Sticky Kush tape.
The dropped clamp lets the Pavé post flex to soften bumps through the saddle, while the short-reach bar and cushioned, grippy tape keep your hands comfortable and secure from first mile to last.

If aching hands, numb fingers or a stiff neck cut your long rides short, this is the bike we'd point you to. The 20 mm of suspension built into the front end smothers potholes before they reach your wrists, and the upright position eases your shoulders. Prefer a different saddle or bar shape? We stock plenty and fit any you buy with the bike at no charge.
Not in the way you might fear. The front end soaks up vibration and potholes, yet there's no pedal bob when you get out of the saddle and push, so it still rides like a road bike, just a far smoother one. At the back, the seatpost is clamped low in the frame so it can flex, taking the sting out of bumps through the saddle.
Think of it as an endurance bike that loves to go fast. Aero tube shapes and a stiff area around the pedals mean it responds when you push on the flats, and it stays stable and confident on fast descents. Where a race bike stretches you low for sprints, the Roubaix sits you more upright so you can hold a strong pace for hours over rough roads.
Steep lanes are very manageable on it. The lowest gear is lower than 1:1, so you can keep spinning when the gradient bites rather than grinding to a halt, and the electronic gears get you there with a quick press of the lever. At 8.82 kg with a relaxed, upright position, it's easy to settle into a steady rhythm on long climbs.
For light gravel, towpaths and rough back lanes, it's a lot of fun. The frame takes tyres up to 40 mm, so you can go wider and grippier than the 32 mm tyres it comes on, and the front suspension takes the chatter out of loose surfaces. It's an all-road bike at heart, and a second wheelset with gravel tyres lets you swap between tarmac and gravel in minutes.
Come winter, you can fit full mudguards, as the bike is built ready for them, keeping you drier and making you far more popular with whoever's on your wheel. Extra bottle and top-tube mounts let you carry what you need for long days, so the same bike takes you from muddy January lanes to big summer rides without missing a beat.
Stepping up pays off every time you ride. Both use the same carbon frame, but the Comp swaps mechanical gears for electronic shifting that changes at a light tap and weighs 8.82 kg against 9.44 kg. Once you've owned electronic gears, you'll never go back. SRAM or Shimano matters less: both are superb, and it comes down to how the levers feel in your hands.
These are alloy wheels rather than carbon, with wide 24 mm rims that support the 32 mm tyres well, and they're tubeless ready although the bike arrives with inner tubes fitted. They're on the heavier side, which is the one thing we'd flag: if you want the Roubaix to feel livelier on climbs later, a lighter wheelset is the upgrade that makes the biggest difference.
Registering makes a big difference. Do it within 90 days of purchase and, as the original owner, you get lifetime cover against structural defects on the carbon frame and fork; without registering it's 2 years. The Future Shock suspension sits outside the lifetime cover, Specialized components and paint get 2 years and the SRAM gears and brakes are covered by SRAM. Crash damage and wear and tear aren't covered.
Your free first check is within 6 weeks at your nearest Bicycle Chain store, or sooner if you're clocking up big miles or anything feels off. After that we recommend a service every 6 months if you ride regularly, or every 12 for occasional riding. Regular servicing keeps everything from the gears to the front suspension running sweetly, and a well-looked-after Roubaix holds its value better too.
