Say hello to the new Rapide CLX II model. This wheelset combines the aerodynamic qualities of a deep-section TT wheel with the lighter feel of a shallower climbing wheel. Add in the superior efficiency and excellent handling of a tubeless system, and the result is maximum speed for real-world riding.
Distinct shapes have been developed for the front and rear rims of the Rapide CLX II. This design means the wheelset creates less drag than most 65mm wheelsets, resulting in a significant 25% improvement in stability over 50mm rims when dealing with windy conditions.
The Rapide CLX II features a hooked rim, allowing for real-world riding pressures up to 110psi, making it easier to retain the tire bead securely and ensuring a smoother setup and mounting process. Despite nearly doubling current industry impact standards, this wheelset manages to achieve an impressively lightweight.
Specialized's AeroFlange hubs have been aerodynamically optimised with wide bracing angles to enhance strength and reduce spoke weight. These hubs also benefit from the reduced weight and increased strength of ceramic SINC bearings, as well as the legendary durability of DT Swiss EXP freehub internals.
