In our quest to create unparalleled cycling equipment, we embarked on thorough research and testing, using over 150 individual rims to determine the most aerodynamic shape. Countless hours in the Wind Tunnel and in Computational Fluid Dynamics modelling resulted in a 32mm-depth shape that boasts unsurpassed wind tunnel logging time in its class.
The design stages didn't stop there. We returned to our initial focus on weight, experimenting with more than forty different layup methods until the CLX 32 outshone every competitor in the lightweight wheel category in both lightness and speed. To achieve the best overall wheel system, we coupled the rim with our Aero Flange series hub and DT Swiss Aero spokes. The result? A 21mm-wide (internal width) front wheel weighing a mere 553 grams and possessing an impressively low inertia value.
The reduced inertia entails that less force is required to accelerate or decelerate, enabling you to modify your direction of travel with minimal effort. A wider rim promotes improved structural strength, optimised rim and tyre interface for wider tyres, enhanced aerodynamics and faster rolling properties.
