The HX 1700 takes into account the increased weight and greater drive torque of E-MTBs. In addition, as E-MTB riders often ride extended distances and more frequently, this wheel is designed to be a truly durable solution for long term E-MTB use.
The heart of the HX 1700 lies in a custom-built version of DT Swiss' renowned 350 hubs. These E-MTB-optimised hubs feature 24-tooth ratchets and oversized hub shells for superior load distribution.
The welded alloy rims are graced with reinforced spoke beds that resist fatigue and can carry high loads for extended intervals.
The wheel's straight pull spokes are specially crafted for Hybrid designs, featuring an oversized 2.35 mm hub interface, that safeguards one of the most stressed points of any wheel.
For a wheel to qualify as Hybrid certified under DT Swiss' stringent in-house testing, it must survive 50% more lifecycles, endure 20% higher load tests on spokes and rims, and the bearings must withstand almost twice the maximum load of a standard wheel.
The Hybrid range's durability makes it a perfect fit for not only E-MTBs, but also for larger cyclists, bike packers, or anyone seeking a resilient wheelset with a high weight limit.
The HX 1700 comes in a 30 mm internal width to support the modern high volume trail tyres.

When you buy a bike from us in the store or come to collect your Click & Collect order we will adjust your new bike to fit you.

This includes adjusting saddle height, saddle position and where possible adjusting the brake levers / gear shifters.

We will also adjust any accessories you have purchased with your bike where applicable.

Free 6 week service (at your nearest store)

When you buy a bike from us you will get a free service at your nearest Bicycle Chain store within 6 weeks of taking delivery of your bike.

The free service is put in place to make sure the bike you have purchased is running correctly and to adjust out any cable stretch that happens to any new bike.

The type of bike you have bought and the type of riding you have planned will affect how soon you need to book your free service.
