Born from the idea of combining the characteristics of our high-end CLX 50 rim with newly configured components, the CL 50 unleashes a whole new level of speed and lightness for the racing enthusiasts. Perfectly balanced, the weight of this wheelset matches many under the 'lightweight' category, yet its distinct aerodynamic edge sets it apart, putting speed and performance first.
Our determined pursuit for design perfection led us through endless rounds of Computational Fluid Dynamics modelling. The aim? To discover the ultimate rim shape that could optimise both speed and lightness within the CL 50 design. Three prospective rims were manufactured and tested in our state-of-the-art Win Tunnel before the perfect design was selected.
Crucially, we also recognised that tyres can significantly affect testing results. Therefore, we designed our rims around a modern-width tyre, known for allowing lower tyre pressure leading to improved comfort and reduced rolling resistance. By pairing a correctly-sized rim width with this type of tyre, we managed to maintain aerodynamic efficiency without compromise.
