The Giant E-line
Expanding their line-up of off-road e-bikes, Giant have added three new trail-munching models to their battery powered range. The Stance E+, Trance E+ Pro and Trance E+ SX Pro combine Giant’s proven full-suspension performance with high powered motor technology to help you get the most out of your ride.
The Trance E+ SX Pro sits at the top of the range; pro by name, premium by nature. Constructed for the high-performance trail and enduro riding, the SX Pro features 140mm of Maestro rear suspension, as well as 160mm of travel in front – perfect for the bumpier trails that require a little more stability and handling confidence.
Fitted with the SyncDrive Pro motor, the SX Pro offers best-in-class motor technology, delivering a whopping 360 percent pedal assistance with a massive 80Nm of torque. Many motors suffer from an unnatural feel, but not this one. A narrow Q-factor helps to give the SX Pro a much more natural feel while pedalling, and particularly on the more aggressive terrain. The Trance E+ Pro, Giant’s next machine in the range, offers the exact same experience as the SX, just without the same sublime suspension. Still, 150mm of travel in the front fork is a lot to shout home about.
The Stance E+ is Giant’s beginner to intermediate bike, marketed to those taking up e-bike riding and looking to taste all the new, cutting-edge e-bike technologies. Constructed from a lightweight ALUXX SL aluminium frame with stiffness and strength in abundance, as well as FlexPoint rear suspension, this bike is a devil on the fast, technical off-road trails, able to turn on a dime and power out of each and every corner.
The SyncDrive Sport motor provides a 350% support ratio, ensuring that no hill is too steep. Complete with 27.5+ wheels, 120mm of smooth travel in the rear and 130mm up front, the Stance E+ is one smooth operator, delivering confident ride quality no matter the terrain beneath your wheels.
E-xtra special features
All three of Giant’s new e-bikes come equipped with ground-breaking and, quite frankly, swanky kit. RideControl ONE features on all three and offers integrated button controls into a flush handlebar, allowing for seamless shifting through the different support modes. Battery levels are also indicated by LEDs, a nice touch for those longer days in the saddle.
For even more juice, the new e-bikes come equipped with an updated EnergyPak on the downtube, featuring a minimalist design that integrates with the frame – no more bulky bottom ends! This also makes it incredibly easy to access, and therefore charge. With highly innovative cells that can be charged to more than 60% in just 90 minutes, this bike will be ready to re-mount after a nice leisurely coffee stop.
Each battery pack has a new Smart charge already installed, helping to increase the longevity of each battery. When cells become too hot, the smart charger switches to other, cooler ones – simple but incredibly efficient.
